• Volunteer FAQ

Q: How do I find out what days you need help and get on the schedule?
A: Our Volunteer Manager will contact you to set up your regular set schedule and how to sign in/out in our system. Requests for fill-in spots will be shared as they come up.

Q: Do I need horse or barn experience?
A: You do not need any experience with horses or working at a barn. We'll teach you everything you need to know!

Q: Will I get to ride a horse?
A: Once our volunteers reach 30 hours of volunteer service, they qualify for a Volunteer Reward Trail Ride, usually held twice a year.

Q: How old do you have to be to volunteer?
A: We accept volunteers 14 years of age and older. All volunteers must be capable of working independently.

Q: Can I fulfill my community volunteer hours for high school there?
A: Yes. We provide documentation of the number of hours each volunteer serves, as requested.

Q: Is there a certain number of hours I have to volunteer?
A: No, whether you give one hour or ten, your contribution fuels our mission with purpose! (But, goals . . . 30 hours will qualify you for our Volunteer Rewards Trail Ride).

Q: Can I volunteer with my friends?
A: Of course. But please remember, our four-legged therapists and their care is our top priority, and it’s work. But, working together for a common goal is a great way to strengthen your friendship!
